Mid Ulster District Council is organising a series of talks around the Decade of Anniversaries (1912-1923).
The series of talks and discussions deal with the historical facts that mark the key shifts in society that happened during this turning point in history and give meaning to the events that happened across the divide, helping to promote a deeper understanding of our shared history and culture.
John Ritchie (Friends of The Somme - Mid Ulster Branch) will explore the impact of the First World War and The Easter Rising in Tyrone and across Ireland. Examining how our war dead are commemorated today.
