Virtual reality app brings war poem to life
08 January 2015

A new app designed by the BBC uses user-accessible virtual reality to focus on poetry of the First World War.
The mobile phone app for both android and iOS devices, utilises a smartphone-based head mounted display, such as Google Cardboard, to offer a brand new perspective of war.
'War of Words' is now available to download for free on iOS and presents a visual journey alongside Siegfried Sassoon's 'The Kiss' which was written before the Battle of the Somme and depicts the taking of a life.
As a user you can see a full 360 degree view of your surrounding as the poem is read aloud.
